|Welcome to the FRADU Hunters web-site!
The Hawker Hunter was operated by the Fleet Requirements and Air Direction Unit (FRADU) at RNAS Yeovilton between December 1972 and May 1995.
To recognise this period of Fleet Air Arm service, this web-site was set up in July 1998. More recently, the site has expanded to include the type's overall Royal Navy links, with its service with the second line Training Units being featured.
The Hunter served with the UK's Fleet Air Arm for nearly 40 years, a fact that is often overshadowed by the type's Royal Air Force service.
All 44 Hawker Hunter airframes that saw service with the FRADU unit are featured on this site, with details of where and/or if they survive today.
A series of photographic collections are also featured. Please have a look around the site and let me know what you think by clicking the options below.
